Soaring Duck under a Full Moon

Fritz loved to paint ducks and did so again and again. He worked on the motif of a soaring male mallard almost countless times as an oil painting, watercolor, drawing or lithograph. In this work, Fritz has indicated the scenery around the duck with just a few brushstrokes and yet created an incredibly dense image. The dark grey canvas was as if made for the depiction of a full moon night.
