Ostrich Chick “Ex Ovo”

Straussküken

Description

Ostrich Chick “Ex Ovo”, oil on canvas

Creation year

1979

This picture shows the miracle of reproduction quite impressively: having grown too big for the narrow shell, the newborn chick catches its breath and hatches from the egg. Unlike many other species, ostriches are almost ready when they are born. After just two or three days, they leave the nest and run after their parents. Also the little bird in the picture already makes a very bright impression.
