Coucou – qui es-tu?

The cuckoo symbolizes carefree happiness. On the one hand, this is probably because of its distinctive mating call, which heralds the arrival of spring. On the other hand, it is because this mischievous bird does not bother with the hardships of raising its young, but simply lays its eggs in the nests of other birds and lets them do all the work. It almost seems as if the bird in this cheerful picture is aware of these circumstances and is celebrating them in a way.
