Toucan and Co

This toucan is accompanied by three other species of rainforest birds.  At the beginning of the 1960s, Fritz had found his own style of painting animals: The animal isolated on a white primed canvas, without any background. Strong contrasts, clear forms – with this way of depicting animals, Fritz was able to make a name for himself as an animal painter for the first time and was successful enough to make a living from his painting.
