When all four large species of macaw are together in a picture, the motif is naturally posed and not taken somewhere in South American jungles. The scarlet macaw, for example, tends to live further north, the great green macaw further west than the green-winged macaw and the blue-and-yellow macaw, which share their habitat in Brazil. Fritz’s aim was probably to show the differences in color between the four species. The result is a very cheerful and colorful picture.
