Description
Eagle Owl at Full Moon, oil on canvas
Creation year
1981
The eagle owl is the largest of all owls, and its fierce look gives it a somewhat sinister appearance. As owls are nocturnal and hide during the day, they are mainly seen on moonlit nights, which is reflected in Fritz’s work; his owl paintings often show a full moon. From somewhere high above, this bird searches its surroundings for prey. The dark woods appear blue in the sparse light, the sky is illuminated by the moon in violet-pink tones.
