Fritz often used charcoal drawing and watercolor as a design technique for oil paintings or lithographs. This often resulted in independent works of art. These sketchy and often fleeting pictures had their own fan community, which specialized in Fritz’s watercoloured charcoal drawings in their collecting activities.
