Fritz published a wall calendar with his pictures every year. For 1991 he had planned a calendar with exclusively pictures of owls, but unfortunately he was unable to realize it. This watercolor was the design for the cover of the calendar, an oil painting that was never painted due to the artist’s illness and early death.
