Description
The Fish Haul (partial Illustration), oil on concrete
10 x 2.15 m (complete picture)
Creation year
1977
In 1977, Fritz was commissioned to paint the concrete walls of the Buhn swimming hall in Zurich. On the front wall right next to the entrance, he depicted the hauling in of a fishing net, a motif that Fritz had worked on several times. What is special about this work is its extraordinary size. On this partial illustration of the painting, Fritz signed the entire work (wich over three walls is in all around 35 meters long) together with This Haab. Unfortunately, we do not know who this person is. We suspect that This Haab was a young art student and fan of Fritz who helped to create this large commission in October and November 1977.
To get an impression of the total size, the Fish Haul is shown here in its entirety.
