After leaving active service in the Second World War due to an accident, Fritz had a lot of time and little to do. So he took a trip to the south of France and a longer detour to North Africa, where he painted wherever he could find motifs. This picture of two street musicians, probably pastels on paper, must have been painted in a Moroccan city, perhaps Marrakech, in the early 1940s.
