Description
A Nursing Doe With Two Fawns, enhanced lithograph on handmade paper
54 x 76 cm
From the Collection of the Ernst-Wildi-Rohr-Stiftung
Creation year
1966
This lithograph from the Wildi-Rohr Collection is also numbered 99 and was hand-finished by Fritz. Does give birth to between one and four fawns, though twins are by far the most common. So it makes sense that the hand-drawn sketch depicts a second fawn, though only the head and neck of the second sibling are visible. Judging by the expression on its face (see the detail below), the fawn seems to be thinking: “Hasn’t he had enough to drink yet? I want some now, too!”
