This is probably the last oil painting of a tiger that Fritz created. The power, calm and sovereignty that this big cat radiates cast considerable doubt on whether the lion can really be described as the king of beasts. The painting from the wonderful Hug collection of Margrit and Max Boegli from Neuchatel was last exhibited at the Fritz Hug anniversary exhibition in 2022 in Zurich.
