In the picture book Animals of the Bible (see link below), illustrated by Fritz with texts by his wife Margrit, the snake naturally appears, as it had to serve as the first encounter between Adam and Eve and evil in the Book of Books. Unfairly so, because snakes are intelligent and beautiful, and that is how Fritz depicted it: it is a constrictor snake, and its only faint skin markings make it somewhat difficult to identify the species; however, it could be a royal python.
