Spanish Wall Lizard

A wall lizard basks in the sun on a lichen-covered stone.  The heat is palpable for the observer. The rather sparse vegetation is slowly drying out in the summer heat. The somewhat fleeting painting fits in with the Mediterranean summer mood. Fritz’s vacation paintings often appear playful or are full of experimentation. For fans of the Swiss animal painter’s art, it is fortunate that he always had his painting utensils with him on vacation.
