Description
Apollo Butterflies, oil on canvas
Creation year
1987
Insects can make a fantastic subject. On a mountain meadow, presumably near Flims with a ridge of the Tschingelhörner in the background, a wild bee and two beautiful Apollo butterflies cavort on the blossoms of mountain house-leek. Once again, Fritz combines his three favorite motifs – animals, flowers and a landscape – to create a wonderful painting.
