Des Critiques, Moi, Je m’en Fous

I don’t care about criticism, says this pond frog or the artist himself. But Fritz wrote this down more for self-protection than out of conviction. Fritz was not recognized by art critics, although he was a very successful artist with a huge fan base. The frog, an early work from the 1960s, conveys a cheerful mood. Later, however, at the end of the 1970s, Fritz struggled inwardly with the lack of recognition from the art scene.
