Description
Weat African Golden Cat, oil on canvas
Creation year
1970s
African golden cats are considered one of the least researched cat species, and little is known about them. But cats have characteristics that are common to many members of their species, such as lying motionless in wait for their prey and then pouncing at the right moment. As this picture impressively shows, cats can be beautiful and dangerous all at once. But in the case of the golden cat—perhaps twice the size of a domestic cat—the danger befalls only birds and smaller mammals.
