Northern Lynx for Peter Stutz

This colored charcoal drawing is almost certainly a design for a lithograph from the same year. We no longer know whether Mr. Stutz, to whom the picture was dedicated, acquired the work himself or received it as a gift. In contrast to the lithograph, this cat appears somewhat more aggressive and less self-confident, which is expressed by the more vivid coloring and the different position of the tail.
