Fritz often painted domestic cats and cats of prey. He loved to paint them, and they were perhaps the most popular motifs among friends of his art. Because this was the case, there were virtually no pictures of cats in his estate apart from a few lithographs. So it was a stroke of luck for Atelier Fritz Hug’s collecting activities that we were able to purchase this watercolor of a leopard at auction in 2022.
