Description

Leopard on the Lookout, oil on canvas

Creation year

1979

Leopards are excellent climbers and spend a lot of time in trees. They often lurk there until suitable prey such as impala approach their hiding place. This picture, painted on raw canvas, shows a leopard in ambush, with the tree barely hinted at. With this painting, Fritz has captured the beauty, power and elegance of this animal almost perfectly.
