Description
Wolf Pit, oil on canvas
Creation year
1979
Anyone who looks these two animals in the eyes will probably understand why many people are afraid of wolves. They look determined and hungry, you wouldn’t want to meet them. The picture gets by with a minimum of color. The main elements are a few shades of brown and the beige of the raw canvas, which nevertheless together create a very dense image. Wolf pits were a common trapping method to protect a village against wolves. We do not know why Fritz chose this title.
