Fritz enjoyed working with the charcoal pencil on location in the wild or in zoos. He often went on zoo trips through the animal parks and zoos of Switzerland and Europe. His estate contains numerous brush drawings or charcoal sketches, most of which were created in just a few moments on one of these journeys, such as this sketch of a massive male brown bear.
