Description
Two Wagtails in Front of Saint-Ursanne, oil on canvas
100 x 50 cm
From the collection Nideröst
Creation year
1985
Fritz liked to visit and depict the same areas more than just once. In the 1980s, it was often places in the Jura that Fritz painted on location while traveling. In the fall of 1985, he painted this picture of the small town of Saint-Ursanne on the banks of the Doubs. As is often the case with Fritz, a little space also had to be given to the fauna. Although the two elegant wagtails are placed in a corner at the very edge, they attract the viewer’s gaze and lend the painting visual depth.
