Seagulls over the Limmat

Fritz painted Zurich cityscapes primarily early in his career, from the 1940s to the early 1960s. But this work, a painting of Zurich’s old town, the lake, and the Alpine panorama in the background, seems to date rather from the late ’60s or even the ’70s. It is mainly the signature and the rather cheerful colors that suggest such a dating.
