Geneva, oil on canvas

From the collection of the Atelier Fritz Hug
Creation year
1950s
Fritz’s parents originally came from Geneva. After the death of his father, his mother, Eglantine Hug-Rochedieu, moved back to Geneva from Thalwil. His sister Eleonore spent her entire adult life there. Fritz therefore had a personal relationship with Geneva and painted in the region from time to time. The picture shows the lake basin over the roofs of the city center. The iconic “Bain de Paquis” bath is clearly visible, a long peninsula jutting out into the lake.
