Landscape by Night “à Vincent”

Unfortunately we do not know where this landscape was painted, but Fritz dedicated it to Vincent van Gogh, whom he admired greatly throughout his life. But the picture seems more reminiscent of some by Claude Monet, who often painted places by the water at nighttime. In any case, the picture is painted in the Impressionist manner, depicting a fleeting snapshot of an atmospheric scene, just as the artist’s eye saw it at the moment.
