Wallcreeper at the Matterhorn

The picture shows the Matterhorn on the left and the Dent Blanche on the right, connected by a mountain ridge. The sky is cloudy, and the colors of the vegetation in the foreground are already autumnal. A wallcreeper flies through the scene. These magnificently colored birds are better known to mountaineers than to ornithologists because they live and breed on rock faces in the high mountains.
