Redstart at the Maggia

On his vacation trips, Fritz often set up his easel somewhere outdoors and simply painted what he saw. He created numerous beautiful pictures in this manner in the valleys around Locarno. As almost always, an animal could not be missing from the painting: A redstart has returned to the Maggia Valley from its wintering grounds in Africa. The picturesque church tower of Moghegno can be seen in the middle of the picture.
