Description
On Aspermont, oil on canvas
Creation year
1975
The picture shows a view from above the village of Jenins across the Bündner Herrschaft to the Pizol area. A black grouse flies through the scene at the very front of the picture. According to the text at the bottom, this was Fritz’s favorite landscape painting, a style he called Romantic Realism. Another remarkable feature of this magnificent picture is the amount of snow that was still present in mid-July 1975. Nowadays, the Pizol area is just about snow-free in midsummer.
