Description
Five Lakes in the Engadin, oil on canvas
Creation year
1983
Muottas Muragl is not only a truly fantastic vantage point for the Upper Engadin with its lakes, but there is also a funicular railway that takes you up there, which allowed the artist to bring a large canvas, his easel, and his many painting utensils up the mountain. No wonder Fritz, who loved the Engadin, captured this view on canvas more than once. The work shown here was created on a few sunny autumn days. Once again, Fritz succeeded in capturing and depicting the special light of the mountain world.
