Hedgehog with Anemones

It was perhaps such paintings, a sweet young hedgehog in a romantic setting with wild forest flowers, that led to Fritz not being taken seriously and being largely ignored by the art scene of the time. Representational painting was no longer in demand. Yet the picture is not only masterfully painted, but represents art, which is understood and appreciated, for example, also by children or by less art-savvy people.
