The antlers of a fully-grown red deer are not only impressive to look at, but the fact that they are shed every year and always grow back a little larger within a few months is almost unbelievable. Fritz liked to paint and draw large stags, often just the head section, because he was fascinated by their antlers. With this small charcoal drawing, he has precisely depicted a red deer with its antlers in all their natural splendor.
