The donkey has been man’s mount and beast of burden for much longer than the horse. The donkey also appears frequently in the Bible, and with its sure-footedness on rough terrain, it is virtually predestined for the barren land of Palestine. Jesus rides on a donkey on his entry into Jerusalem. So it’s no wonder that Fritz and Margrit have dedicated a page to the donkey in their children’s Bible.
