The antlers of deer have always fascinated Fritz as a draftsman. This adult male caribou may serve as an example. Unlike the red deer, the antlers of caribou and reindeer are not of curved elegance, but strongly asymmetrical and rather gnarled. As always when Fritz took the charcoal pencil in his hand, every stroke in this watercolor sits just right.
