Description
Föhn im Glarnerland, oil on canvas
99 x 74 cm
From the collection of the Atelier Fritz Hug
Creation year
1960s
Fritz always had his painting utensils with him when he traveled and painted every day during his vacations, as he did also in Glarus. This picture was created during a southerly wind, called “Föhn”, which is why the Glarus Alps appear so close. The mountains dominate the picture to such an extent that the masterful depiction of the two cows in the foreground is almost lost.
