Description
Grazing Impala, charcoal drawing on handmade paper
33 x 20 cm
From the collection of the Atelier Fritz Hug
Creation year
1970s
In this drawing of a grazing impala, Fritz, the master of charcoal drawing, once again explored the limits of representational art. Although the legs are only partially sketched and the fur pattern and face of the animal are actually missing, the essence of this elegant antelope has been perfectly captured. The expressive style of this small work is reminiscent of Stone Age cave paintings.
