Description
Fleeing Zebras, oil on canvas
Creation year
late 1960s
The flight of herd animals has often engaged Fritz as a motif. There is quite a lot of dynamism in the movement of the animals, presenting a great challenge for the draftsman of the scene. In this picture, the speed and stress the animals find themselves in, are well expressed by the artist’s almost blurring the outlines of the animals and the galloping legs with the background.
