Five Giraffes in Front of Kilimanjaro

In his lithographs, Fritz often shows the animals in zoological accuracy on a white background. Here he has chosen a completely different approach: The steppe, the trees, the mountain form a slightly blurred background against which the startled animals gallop past. The slightly different positions of the necks and legs of the giraffes, create a perfect study of movement of the flight of these elegant animals.
