Description
Bactrian Camel, oil on canvas
Creation year
1979
If zebras embody God’s works of art – as Fritz wrote on one of his paintings – then the Bactrian camels surely testify to his sense of humor: the lanky body, the awkward-looking movements, the shaggy coat that hangs down in shreds in spring, but above all the ever-so-slightly piqued expression on its face, everything about this animal is somehow comical, which is very well expressed in this painting.
